Ony Yan (born in 1992 in "Lübbecke") began with piano playing at the age of five with the piano pedagogue Hae-Kyung Choi  and discovered the violin at the age of seven. She participated sucessfully for the first time with her sister as a pianoduo at the competition „Jugend Musiziert“  and won the first prize. Furthermore she performed numerous times at the city hall in "Lübbecke", gaining the first experience of public performances. She also gained early experiences as a soloist (working with an orchestra), performing Vivaldis double concerto for two violins and strings in a minor as the first violinist. Since 2008, Ony decided to only focus on the piano.

In 2003 she moved to "Bielefeld", where she continued her study on the instrument at the "Musik- und Kunstschule" with Ewa Dworatzek.

Many participations at the competition „Jugend Musiziert“  followed, with the result that she was a prizewinner not only on an regional level but also throughout germany.

She got a scholarship from the „Hans-Bisseger-Stiftung“ , from the "Rotary Club Bielefeld" and got also accepted in YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Berlin e.V.  (2016).

Public performances in the "Landesmusikakademie in Wolfenbüttel" and the "Lokhalle in Göttingen" were the next steps.

in 2009 she performed the "Juggler Suite"  by Reinhold Westerheide as a premiere for two pianos in the "Stadtwerken Bielefeld". Many solistic performances  as well as with her sister (pianoduo) could be heard in the small hall in the Rudolf-Oetker-Halle

In coorperation with the "Lions Club Bielefeld Ravensberg e.V." and the "Sozialwerk Bielefelder Freimaurer e.V"  she gave benefit concerts for e.g. for the Bielefelder Kinderfonds.

She collected experiences as a pedagogue in the Musik-und Kunstschule Bielefeld  and continues to do so in her studies at the university of arts in Berlin  and as a private teacher.

Further impulses for her piano playing as a solist and in chamber music are from Ilja Scheps, Andreas Frölich, Bernd Glemser  and Vineta Sareika (Artemis Quartett).
